The thermal mud used in Wild Ferns Thermal Mud Soap is taken from Rotorua, which is located in a highly active volcanic region of New Zealand. Due to the volcanic activity, the mud comes into contact with volcanic gases and minerals from the centre of the earth. Normal muds and clays contain some minerals, but do not have the volcanic interaction like Rotorua thermal mud does, which causes the mud to be extremely rich in minerals.
